AYAMPE

Resilience in Ayampe

The year 2020 for the world was a very hard blow, where thousands and thousands of people perished. Businesses suffered heavy losses and some even closed. The global crisis due to COVID 19 affected many markets, especially those of real estate.

Throughout history we have seen that crises or wars always leave two scenarios: ruins or opportunities. This time of pandemic has not been the exception, it is time to get up and be resilient.

One of the great characteristics of people who live in a state of resilience is that they take difficulties as an opportunity to learn. Ayampe’s tourism sector was greatly affected throughout this time, however its people were encouraged to move forward as a community and this made them stronger.

It is important to remember that the borders of the countries were closed so that the virus does not advance in its proliferation and even a native (he hid his identification), mentioned that tourist boats tried to arrive and that the entire community joined for a week without sleeping to let no one enter and in this way preserve the life of the inhabitants of Ayampe.

Currently the town returned to its normalcy but this time learning from mistakes and improving in all areas as a commune in this nature reserve. Resilience also implies making changes and adapting to them in the best way. What would it be like to change the country?
